QUIET...PLEASE!

Where can I find some?  Or does it even, in all actuality, exist?

Think about it...or is that an impossibility?  Doesn't thinking, I mean truly thinking, exploring, mulling over something, lend itself in the finest possible way, to the quietest moments?

Did DaVinci paint with music blaring?
Were Einstein's greatest formulas arrived at in the middle of traffic?
Would the disciples have been able to hear the profound words of Jesus if there was a TV blaring, music playing, planes flying over?

Do the greatest minds achieve their greatest moments surrounded by noise?

As I sit at my computer writing these words, I am alone and  I Wonder... ponder.. I have no music playing, no TV on, no dishwasher running or washer and dryer sloshing and whirring, purposely.. I wanted to write in quiet... yet I can hear planes flying over, the furnace announces its work, even the computer I am working on is singing its buzzing song..

Its insane..the more I try to find QUIET, the more noise I hear...
In the words of the Wicked Witch of the West, as she was melting slowly away,
"What a world, what a world, what a world"

Think about it...that is if the noise doesn't get in the way..

  1. Ahhhhh.............you are a writer! And an artist. It is all in the family. I know about silence. When I sit down to meditate, I hear every damn noise!
